Company History

Arden Straw is an avid golfer. He was looking for a high quality clock with a golf theme for his office. He searched for months, on the web, in stores, and magazines, but couldn't find one. All he found were cheap plastic models. Arden has been a woodworker all his life and owns a Cabinet/Furniture shop. He decided that since he was unable to find a clock, he would make one himself. He came up with a design, made a solid wood frame in his shop. He used real golf tees in the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions shaped as roman numerals. A relative saw the clock and mentioned that he should sell it. Arden changed a couple of the dimensions and created a number of clocks out of several different wood types. He opened a booth at a local craft fair, received a lot of compliments and sold several of the clocks. Shortly after the craft fair, a pro shop in a major city about one hour away began selling the clocks. |
